Daniel Goodkin
Dan joined the Law Office of Steven E. Brown in January, 2004. He is a member of the California State Bar, and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University in 1996. He has a BA from UCLA. Before becoming a lawyer, Dan was a law clerk for our offices. Dan's prior experience includes being Director of Business Development and Business Affairs for a web-based music licensing startup, as well as providing computer solutions for medical and legal professionals.
Dan is a native of Southern California, and has lived here his whole life, with the exception of a few years in England, where he attended schools in Reading and Blackpool. Dan is active in the community, using his Advanced Class FCC License, call sign KA6VSS, to help the Sheriff's Department with emergency communications - he was accepted as member of the LA County Disaster Communications Service at age 10, the youngest person to ever be accepted to that organization. He has received commendations from the Sheriff's department for his assistance during brush fires and other emergencies. Dan has also coached AYSO soccer for seven years, including coaching several traveling all-star teams. His hobbies include Kung Fu, computer programming, ice hockey and soccer. He lives in Agoura Hills with his wife Elissa, their two cats, two dogs, and a tortoise.
Maria Baro
Maria has a BA and a teaching credential from California State University, Northridge. She has worked at two different law firms in Ventura County since 1996 as a legal assistant in workers' compensation and personal injury matters. She has been with the Law Office of Steven E. Brown in Westlake Village since 1997, assisting in federal workers' compensation (OWCP), personal injury, employment discrimination, and other federal administrative (EEOC< MSPB, OPM) matters.
Kaydi Davis Tovar
Kaydi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from the University of West Los Angeles (UWLA), with specializations in litigation, corporations and real estate. Joining Mr. Brown in 2006, Kaydi brought with her over 19 years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, entertainment and personal injury actions. She has been a guest lecturer for UWLA and the Century City Bar Association, and was a consultant for a nationally recognized legal calendaring program. Kaydi enjoys spending time with her husband and boys, travel, home improvement projects and baseball.
Erika Bauer
Erika was born and raised in sunny southern California, and is a graduate of Adolfo Camarillo High School. She received an AA degree from Moorpark College, and briefly studied psychology as an undergraduate at UCLA. She has worked several administrative and management positions at local businesses. Erika has an immense interest in law, and looks forward to broadening her understanding of the legal world through being a legal secretary at the Law Office of Steven E. Brown.
